Base44 Invite Collaborators From the Search Box
Base44's app editor now lets you start a collaborator invite directly from the Add collaborator search box: type an email address, click Invite, and the invite window opens with that address already filled in.
Key Takeaways
- Typing an email into the Add collaborator search box in the app editor now offers an Invite action.
- Clicking Invite opens the invite window with the typed email address already filled in.
- Searching for someone who is not yet a collaborator no longer means retyping their address in a separate dialog.
- The invite window's permissions and confirmation steps are unchanged; only the entry point is faster.
What changed
Inviting someone to a Base44 app now starts from the search box. In the app editor you click Add collaborator (+), type the person's email address into the search box, and click Invite. The invite window opens with that email address already filled in.
The search box previously served to find people who were already reachable in your workspace. Typing an address that did not match anyone left you to open the invite flow separately and retype it. Now the search box doubles as the entry point for a brand-new invite, and it carries the address you typed across into the invite window.
Why it matters
This removes a small but repeated annoyance: searching for a collaborator, discovering they are not there yet, and then re-entering the same email in a different dialog. Collapsing "look for this person" and "invite this person" into one action means the common case of inviting someone new no longer costs a detour, and the address is never typed twice.
The invite window itself is unchanged — same permissions and same confirmation — so this is purely a faster route into an existing flow.
Base44 documents the behaviour under Inviting collaborators in its access-management guide.
