Claude Dispatch: Cross-Device Task Assignment
Dispatch is a new capability that lets you assign Claude tasks from your phone and receive the finished work on your desktop. Launched on March 23, 2026, it enables a continuous conversation across mobile and desktop devices.
How It Works
Dispatch pairs your mobile and desktop Claude applications, creating a bridge between the two. You can send a task from your phone — whether you're commuting, in a meeting, or away from your desk — and Claude will work on it using your desktop environment. When the task is complete, the results are waiting for you.
The desktop app must remain awake and running for Dispatch to function, as Claude executes tasks using the desktop environment's capabilities.

- Weekly metrics pulls: Schedule recurring data collection and reporting tasks

Integration with Computer Use
Dispatch becomes significantly more powerful when paired with Computer Use (also launched March 23, 2026). Together, they enable Claude to receive a task assignment on mobile, then execute it on your desktop by directly controlling applications — opening browsers, navigating tools, and completing multi-step workflows autonomously while you're away.
Integration with Claude Cowork and Claude Code
Dispatch works with both Claude Cowork (the desktop collaboration experience) and Claude Code (the CLI coding tool), meaning developers can assign coding tasks from their phone and find completed implementations, pull requests, or code reviews when they return to their workstation.
Availability
Dispatch is available as an early research preview and is not yet considered production-ready. It requires both the Claude mobile app and the Claude desktop app to be set up and paired.
