Lovable Adds dbt Semantic Layer, ClickHouse, and Simplified BigQuery Connectors

Lovable

Lovable expanded its data-connector lineup with support for the dbt Semantic Layer and ClickHouse, alongside a simplified BigQuery sign-in flow. Together, the additions make it easier to build apps directly on top of governed analytics metrics and high-performance analytical databases, without the setup overhead previously required for enterprise data warehouse authentication.

Governed Metrics and Analytical Databases, Natively Connected

Lovable added a connector for the dbt Semantic Layer, letting apps query governed metrics directly from a team's dbt Cloud Semantic Layer instead of re-deriving business logic inside the app itself. This lets Lovable-built dashboards and internal tools stay consistent with the metric definitions a data team has already standardized on, rather than risking metric drift between the app and the warehouse.

Alongside it, Lovable shipped a ClickHouse connector, enabling SQL queries against both self-hosted and ClickHouse Cloud databases. ClickHouse is widely used for high-volume analytical and event-data workloads, so this connector opens the door to Lovable apps built on top of large-scale, low-latency analytics stores.

Simpler BigQuery Sign-In

Lovable also simplified BigQuery authentication, adding a direct Google account sign-in option that removes the need to configure Workload Identity Federation beforehand. This lowers the setup barrier considerably for teams that just want to query BigQuery data without first navigating Google Cloud's identity federation configuration.

Why It Matters

These additions continue Lovable's steady expansion into the analytics and data-warehouse space, following earlier connectors like AWS Athena and Snowflake. For teams already standardized on dbt for metric governance or ClickHouse for large-scale analytics, this removes real integration friction and lets internal tools and dashboards built in Lovable reflect the same source-of-truth data their broader organization already relies on.
