Lovable: Redesigned Share Menu Separates Workspace Access From Invite Links
Lovable redesigned the project Share menu with a simpler layout that separates workspace access from invite links. Preview links are now listed by name, which makes them easy to find, edit or delete. The menu now covers collaborators, workspace visibility and anonymous view-only previews in one place.
Key Takeaways
- Workspace access and invite links are now separate controls, so the question of who in the company can see a project no longer mixes with who can join through a URL.
- Preview links are listed by name, which makes it much easier to find, edit or delete the right link when several are active.
- Preview links give anonymous, view-only access to the latest in-progress app with no Lovable account needed and no exposure of chat or source code.
- Guest comments are on by default for preview links and can be toggled later, while expiration and password are fixed at creation.
- Business and Enterprise plans add Restricted and Can view modes, password protection and custom expiry, giving teams tighter control over unfinished work.
- Invite links expire after 7 days and only one is active at a time, so changing the access level automatically invalidates the previous link.
A Simpler Share Menu
Lovable redesigned the Share menu found in the top bar of every project. The new layout is simpler and splits sharing into clearly separate controls: who can collaborate on the project, whether the rest of the workspace can reach it, and which anonymous preview links are active.
Workspace Access and Invite Links Are Now Separate
Workspace access now has its own row. It controls whether members of the workspace can see the project by default. On every plan, Can edit lets workspace members view, remix or edit based on their role. Business and Enterprise workspaces also get Can view, where members can view and remix but not edit, and Restricted, where only the project owner and explicitly invited people have access. Only the project owner can set a project to Restricted, and workspace owners keep full access.
Invite links sit in their own section. An invite link adds anyone who opens it to the project with the chosen role. Edit links are available on all plans, and view links on paid plans. Links expire after 7 days, only one link is active at a time, and changing the access level creates a new link and invalidates the old one. A dropdown next to the link lets builders change its level or disable it, which stops the URL immediately.
Preview Links Listed by Name
Preview links are now listed by name in the menu. A preview link is a view-only URL to the latest in-progress version of an app. Recipients need no Lovable account and cannot see the editor, chat or source code. Each active link in a project needs a unique name, so builders can tell a link for a client apart from one for a teammate.
From the list, builders can copy a link's URL at any time, toggle Allow comments (on by default, so guests can pin comments without an account), or delete the link. Deletion is permanent and the URL stops working for everyone, though the change can take up to a minute to apply. Expiration and passwords cannot be changed after creation, so changing either means creating a replacement link and deleting the old one.
Plan-Specific Controls
Free and Pro preview links expire after 7 days. Business and Enterprise builders can also require a password of at least 8 characters and choose an expiry of 24 hours, 7 days, 30 days or never. Enterprise admins can turn off preview link creation workspace-wide, and existing links keep working until they expire or are deleted. On Business and Enterprise plans, Lovable also warns before an invite goes to someone outside the workspace.
