Mistral Vibe: Session Pull Requests and Merge Requests Appear in the Bottom Bar
Mistral Vibe 3.0.3 introduced experimental session artifacts: the pull requests and merge requests tied to a session are detected and shown in the bottom bar. A single PR appears as a clickable PR #123 or MR !7 link, and several appear as a PRs (n) link that opens a modal. The feature syncs state, CI checks and an actionability status from the provider, and sits behind the experimental_enable_pr_monitoring flag.
Key Takeaways
- Session PRs and MRs now show in the bottom bar as clickable links that open in the browser.
- Multiple artifacts collapse into a
PRs (n)link that opens a modal listing every one. - Artifacts are found both at session load (open PRs on the current branch) and when created through
ghorglab. - Mistral Vibe syncs CI checks and an actionability status from the provider after each turn and on demand.
- The feature is experimental and requires the
experimental_enable_pr_monitoringflag. - A new
artifacts/markViewedRPC supports a viewed state for the upcoming Desktop artifact panel.
A new place to see your pull requests
Mistral Vibe 3.0.3 adds an experimental way to keep track of the code review work a session produces. Pull requests (GitHub) and merge requests (GitLab) linked to the session now show up in the bottom bar of the interface.
When a session has one artifact, the bar shows a centered, clickable link such as PR #123 or MR !7 that opens it in the browser. When there are several, a PRs (n) count link opens a modal listing each artifact with its link.
How artifacts are found
Mistral Vibe discovers artifacts in two ways. At session load, it looks for open PRs and MRs on the session's current branch using gh pr list --head or glab mr list --source-branch. During a session, it detects PRs and MRs created through gh pr create or glab mr create. Both kinds are recorded in the session logs.
Live status from the provider
Artifacts are synced from the provider. Mistral Vibe pulls the lifecycle state, title, branches, author, timestamps, merge commit, CI checks and an aggregated actionability status. Syncing happens at session start, after each turn, and on a new artifacts/sync RPC. The bottom bar and the modal show the overall status and the per-check list, so users can see whether a PR is waiting on them without leaving the terminal.
Experimental, and tied to the desktop app
The feature is behind the experimental_enable_pr_monitoring flag. Mistral Vibe also added an artifacts/markViewed app-server RPC, described as part of the Desktop artifact panel work, which marks artifacts as viewed and stores viewed_at in the session logs.
